Introduction
Hey! I'm Levi, co-founder of Bolmate, a small remote software company with three employees.
Our software automates processes for over 1,800 companies that sell through Dutch e-commerce marketplace Bol (very similar to Allegro). This includes automatic VAT invoicing, review requests by email, profit calculation, etc.
Thanks to our focus on quality and service, we have an amazing review score of 4.9 out of 5 with 116 reviews and large companies among our users—and that with only one developer!
We receive many feature requests, which is why we are looking for a Medior Full Stack Developer. Will you be our fourth colleague and second developer?
My girlfriend is Polish and I have come to like the country and the people. Therefore, I now hire in Poland. The job is fully remote and the communication will be in English. You have to speak good English.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer who can independently build new features — from idea to launch. You will have the opportunity to devise and implement solutions that help thousands of entrepreneurs every day. In our weekly meeting, we briefly discuss our course, priorities, and ideas; everyone contributes their thoughts, and together we determine the next step.
We usually work without detailed designs: using examples or a sketch on paper, you will work iteratively until something feels just right. Clicking yourself, trying it yourself, empathizing yourself. You can apply your creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to make it even better than we first envisioned. Our ultimate goal is always to build the most beautiful tools for our customers that work in the simplest yet best way possible.
You don't just build new features from scratch, you also improve existing parts of the codebase. In doing so, you contribute ideas about the why, the how, and the best technical solution—so you're not just working through tickets. You have the freedom to make your own choices, as long as the codebase remains consistent. We don't want copy & paste — or LLM slop as PR. Of course, you can use these kinds of resources.
In the beginning, you will regularly spar with Dave (co-founder and now sole developer), but as you get to know the codebase better, you will work more and more autonomously. You are a full-fledged builder of tools that make our users happy.
Freedom and responsibility
You will have a certain amount of freedom to determine your own working hours. Being able to go for a walk when the sun is shining is one of the great things about remote working. We work on the basis of trust and personal responsibility. With this freedom comes responsibility—we expect you to be reliable, keep your commitments, communicate well, and do your job well.
Clear communication and good coordination are essential here: for example, it is not acceptable for one colleague to have to wait until another colleague decides to start working. We can discuss this further during the application process.
